Following the meeting in Split, some of the most important outcomes are:
  • People are becoming older and that this is not a process we can change but we can prevent some of its negative consequences.
  • The journey from need to demand to supply is one of the key elements in our vision approach. There should be harmony between political solutions, governance and technical solutions that will be a result of our journey.
  • Holistic approach. People are at the center, we need to look at their story in a complex manner from their social and healthcare perspective.
  • Presentation of status quo to show the description and different situation in each country in terms of accessibility, waiting times, service providers and so on for each territorial action plan. It is important to underline the common challenges to define a transnational strategy.
  • We have a great and knowledgeable team. People dealing with patients, people from research and people from the educational environment. We also have public administrations on board.
  • We can cover elements that are important for social innovation and for technological aspects of telemedicine.
  • Spread and disseminate knowledge to people. Knowledge transfer also within the partnership. We can deliver tangible results.
  • Setting of governance. To understand who is responsible for what due to existing fragmentation of decision making chain.
  • Provide support to existing programs of policy makers by raising awareness, delivering new models, describing new ICT tools, etc.
  • Improve the life of people ageing also in rural areas . Spatial planning, accessibility. Improve the life of people with a different approach, different way of treating people, with a clear focus also on social relationships. SI4CARE will support the definition of a model and manual of holistic prevention and treatment of the consequences of dementia and their social relations. Wider perspective, including the ability of the elderly to drive.
  • How to help people from distance. We will work on defining principles, building blocks to define a standard on how to help people from distance.
  • Ensuring financial and economic sustainability of solutions. Savings in money and improving quality of life.
  • We are open to collaborate with every kind of governance level, anyone interested in working on these issues. If you wish to join us, we are more than happy to involve you in the project.
